The concern with the supply of quality health services is a reoccurring necessity in many Brazilian municipalities and the sponsorship of actions in this segment directly benefit the neediest populations.
Since its arrival in São Francisco do Sul, ArcelorMittal Vega has reverted a portion of its contribution to the community in this area. The first action, in 2002, was the donation of a fully equipped Mobile ICU to attend urgent or emergency cases. Another initiative was to hold a training course for the health team of the São Francisco do Sul Hospital. In 2005, the company entered, as a partner, in the Family Health Program, donating mammography equipment to the community and sponsored two simultaneous events in this segment: the 1st Regional Conference of Workers' Health and the 1st Regional Conference of Work and Education in Health Management, both covering the municipalities of the region.
ArcelorMittal Vega will continue the investments in the Family Health Program and identify projects that will meet the needs of the population in this area.
