Cine-Theater XV of November revitalized with resources from ArcelorMittal Vega
On April 15, 2004, after a five month revitalization project, ArcelorMittal Vega reinaugurated the cultural and leisure space for the community of São Francisco do Sul. Started in November 2003, R$ 1.5 million was invested in the restoration. The project was made possible by a partnership with the City of SFS, through the Cultural Foundation of the São Francisco do Sul Island.
The revitalization of the X de November Cine-Theatre is one of ArcelorMittal Vega's actions to celebrate the 500 year anniversary of the discovery of São Francisco do Sul. The area was made suitable for theatrical presentations, music, dance, conferences, and other cultural events. The project involved improvements in architecture, visual communication, climate control, drainage, electricity, telephone, water, fire prevention, basic stage and scenic illumination structures, etc. A technical team from IPHAN developed the project to preserve the historical characteristics of the building, among which stand out the architectural element in Art Deco, the iron gates, following the original colonial Brazilian architecture, in addition to including modern elements, such as access for the disabled, and appropriate stage and dressing rooms, with soundproofing and at the same time, give the city a first class cultural area.
ArcelorMittal Vega, with the delivery of the remodelled Cine Theatre, began promoting, activities that value culture, such as theatrical and musical presentations. The company is concerned about the ongoing investment in projects that benefit the community for long periods and encourage cultural values.
