Cold Rolled Lamination

After the pickling process the cold rolling occurs. In ArcelorMittal Vega these processes are coupled, which allows the work to flow continuously. The laminator has four chairs (cages) in which the sheet is submitted to controlled compression and traction stress, reducing its thickness.

In this process an emulsion of oil and water is used, which has the function of cooling and lubricating the contact between the sheet and the cylinder. In the rolling process, all waste is recycled or reused

After this step, the coils, at this point called full-hard, can follow two different paths, depending on the final product: coated sheets or thin cold rolled sheets.
